Mark Nguyen was elected to the Midway City Sanitary District Board of Directors in November 2022 after being appointed in 2021, and he now holds the position of President Pro-Tem.  Director Nguyen had worked as a community volunteer at mental hospitals and was a Planning Commissioner for the City of Westminster before entering into politics. He was one of the first refugees to leave Vietnam by boat when Saigon fell. He migrated to Southern California during his middle and high school years after spending his formative years in Malaysia and Nebraska. Director Nguyen earned his bachelor's degree from UCLA and has lived in Westminster for the past 20 years with his wife and kids.
